Snehadaan, Bangalore

Snehadaan is a ‘dream-come-true’ of the Camillians in India to have a house of ministry where the young members can have a practical experience of the ‘fourth vow’. The community began functioning as a Novitiate house in May 1996 and still continues with its mission. Initially the house was meant for an old age home, which was converted in to a house for destitute.  Later responding to the needs of the time it evolved as a care and support centre for PLHA.  Presently Snehadaan comprised of the novitiate house and a community care centre for PLHA with the facilities to provide in-patient care for 50 people. It also provides training for Doctors, Nurses, Health Care Workers, Social Workers and Medical Students on medical management and care of PLHAs. Presently Snehadaan functions in partnership with KHPT for implementing the Care and Support Component of USAID Samastha Project.
