History and Background
Camillians came to Trichy with the intention of recruiting and providing initial stage of formation for students from Tamil Nadu in the year 2000. The pioneers started to live in a rented house in Crawford in Trichy with two candidates. After staying in Crawford for a year they shifted their formation house to another rented house nearby Karumandapam with 11 fresh candidates. In 2004 a permanent plot was purchased and began the construction of the Seminary. In the year 2006 Pre-philosophy students were brought to the seminary formation. In the same year we shifted our house to newly constructed building in Enam Mathur – Trichy, about 24 km away from the city. Here we have 14 acres of land with coconut-trees and fruit-trees. Presently it is functioning as a centre for vocation promotion, and a minor seminary for the candidates from Tamil Nadu, and community based health care ministry. |
