History and Background
’Upasana’ means to sit beside. As a disciple who is seated at the feet of the Master, learn then finally leave to live what he has learned from the Master. Before we begin this house the Camillian presence was marked by the early 80’s at Bangalore by sending students to Dharmaram College under the guidance of Fr. Antonio Crotti. Later on they shifted the residents to a rented house in Koramangala for two years (1984-85) and then to Vidya Bhavan of CST Fathers for two and a half years (1986-88). By completing the first part of Upasana in 1989, it became the second house of the Camillians in India after Mananthavady seminary. Though initially it was meant as the study house for students of both theology and philosophy, later it was changed to be the formation centre for the theology students. At present the house is open for residential theology students. It is also utilized as the venue for various Health care training programmes. |
